Simple Santa Craft – Quick and Festive DIY Decor
I’ve created super quick and easy Christmas decorations in the form of a charming cone-shaped Santa.
This is also a shorter post because this is one of the easiest Christmas decorations to make.
- Cut
- Glue
- Assemble
- Ready to use
Santa works well as a decoration for the Christmas lunch table, in the window, on your desk by the computer, or wherever you need simple and quick Christmas decorations.
If you’d like to use Santa for a crafting day but feel there’s not enough work involved in printing and assembling him, you can use him as a template.
Use the coloured printable, the template pieces, or both prints – you’ll need two sheets to get all the parts.
You can go straight to the instructions here.
The Santa printable and template are just below – and the printing instructions for the easy Santa are here.
This easy Santa is inspired by some of my earlier Christmas decorations, such as the Christmas cones and the easy Christmas angel (the text is Danish).
And now there’s also an easy Christmas tree, inspired by the cone-shaped Santa.
Simple Santa Craft
Here, you’ll find a “print, cut, and assemble” Santa, a quick and easy decoration and some template pieces you can use to create your version.
If you want to make other decorations that are (almost) as simple, take a look at the minimalist
Christmas trees, the cone-shaped Christmas tree, the simple hanging angel (text in Danish), and the three versions of a Christmas angel, all cut from a single piece of paper (text in Danish).

How to Make an Easy Santa
You can print the Santa by clicking on the image or the link below; both will take you to a PDF file in A4 size you can print directly.
I do not recommend using the photos embedded in the text.
The Santa looks much better when printed from the PDF file.
You can print on regular (or glossy) copy paper if you want to use the Santa as a decoration.
If you plan to use Santa as a template, print on cardstock (or glue your print onto thick paper).
You can either use the simple Santa as a template or work with the pieces provided in the white template.
Whether you use one or the other template is up to you, but you will need to print two copies:
- Use one as a template for the shape
- From the second printout, you can cut out the white band with the face or the individual pieces (the edge, beard, and face) if you want to draw your own Santa faces
The Santa is constructed like an upside-down cone, just a bit larger.
You can easily create your version by making a red cone, cutting a white band, adding a beard, and drawing a Santa face.
Cut out your Santa and decorate him if you like.
Glue the pieces together and assemble the cone.
Using the template pieces, you can create your own versions or design figures other than Santa, such as Mrs. Claus or a group of elves.
This way, using various materials, you can make the simple Santa, his family, and the rest of the group.
Decorate them with glitter, cotton balls, pom-poms, beautiful ribbons…
You can also use the band with the face as a napkin ring.
Cut out the Santa band or create your own, glue it together at the back to form a circle, and place it around a red napkin—an extra decoration for your Christmas table.
